Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a CVICU night shift position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in a 16-bed unit staffed entirely by RNs
• 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio on both day and night shifts with a dedicated CNC
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Uses GE monitors, EV1000, Hemisphere, CRRT (NextStage), Impella, Swan Ganz, arterial lines, chest tubes, and ventilators
• Meditech EMR used
• Required to work 2 weekend shifts biweekly
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to Medical ICU, Neuro Surgical ICU, or Cardiac PCU

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required for CVICU
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or other critical care specialty)
• Ventilator management experience required
• Arterial line, central line, and chest tube management skills required
• CVICU-specific experience, CABG recovery, CRRT, and Impella experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and CCRN preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including hemodynamic monitoring, Swan Ganz catheter management, arterial line care, and chest tube management
• Collaborative team environment; best fit for candidates who work well in team-based care settings
• Royal blue scrub attire required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted under any circumstances
