Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiac PICU position requiring over 2 years of cardiac critical care experience and current PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU serving the congenital cardiac population, including medical neonates and cardiac patients
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care patients, estimated but never guaranteed
• Unit is staffed with 1 Charge RN plus additional RNs based on patient volume
• Uses Phillips monitors, Med fusion and Baxter pumps, along with specialized equipment such as Centrimag, Prismax, and Arctic Sun
• Documents in Meditech EMR
• Performs post-op care including inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF and chest tube management, and care of post-sternotomy/open chest patients
• Administers moderate sedation as needed
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license, CO or compact license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience required
• Peritoneal dialysis and CRRT skills preferred
• ECMO bedside experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Join a Cardiac ICU team serving the congenital cardiac population as part of the hospital's ECMO Center
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including board-certified pediatric/congenital heart intensivists to deliver compassionate critical care to patients and their families
• Work alongside an experienced RN team averaging 10 years of nursing experience with high engagement and a strong culture of safety
• Located within the larger 10-bed PICU, providing access to additional resources and support during shifts
• Ideal candidates are flexible, organized, strong communicators, and enjoy teaching and resource sharing
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
