Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring cardiac and neuro experience, Epic proficiency, and AHA certifications for a night shift contract at an acute care hospital in Florence, SC.
Details
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in an acute care hospital with 276 staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, consistent with staff nurse expectations; travelers float first
- Charting system: Epic (experience required)
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- NIHSS certification required
- CCRN preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (2 years preferred)
- Cardiac and neuro ICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Required skills include: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, ECMO, IABP, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, CVVHD/CRRT, and CVA/acute stroke management
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; RTO requests submitted after the offer process may not be approved
- Required online modules are completed pre-start and average approximately 4 hours

- On-site parking is provided at no cost
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
