Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong experience caring for adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
• Ability to work in a self-scheduling environment and rotate every other weekend
• Comfortable with green scrubs and a high-acuity critical care setting

Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for post-operative cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
• Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions requiring advanced cardiovascular ICU support
• Care for patients using devices and therapies such as CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, VAD, and PA catheters
• Perform skilled assessments, intervene promptly, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips according to patient needs
• Manage ventilated patients and support respiratory stabilization
• Support safe transitions from the OR to the CVICU for post-cardiac surgery patients
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold unit standards for patient safety and quality care
• Float to other qualified units or campuses as needed based on census and staffing demands
