Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CRRT training and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a high-acuity Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) in an acute care hospital setting within a busy Level 1 Trauma center
• Patient population includes cardiac, lung transplant, LVAD, ACB, and valve surgery patients
• Patient ratios of 1:2 and occasionally 1:1
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled based on unit needs, with no self-scheduling
• Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule)
• Required to work any holidays as needed
• Floating required, with assignment based on competency
• No call or standby requirement
• RNs are required to titrate drips, including vasoactive drips for cardiac patients
• Unit has a charge RN who also carries patients most of the time
• Unit supported by 1 PCA, an intensivist model, and RT coverage for all RT-managed equipment
• Hardwire cardiac monitoring used on the unit

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years and prior travel experience preferred
• Experience as an ICU RN required
• CRRT training preferred; training will be provided if not already certified
• Experience with LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, and IABP devices
• Prior experience in a busy, high-acuity hospital setting preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to high-acuity cardiovascular and post-surgical patients, including transplant and LVAD patients
• Manage and titrate vasoactive and other critical drips as part of daily patient care
• Collaborate with intensivists and respiratory therapists who provide 24/7 support on the unit
• Unit-specific orientation includes 2-3 shifts with a preceptor
• Teal scrubs required as part of the dress code
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity Health, within the past year
• PRN employment through outside staffing firms will be considered
