Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of CVICU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or sister campus depending on booking
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube assistance, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and emergency medications
• At least one supervisor reference required
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular patients, including post-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization/intervention care
• May include care of patients on ECMO, IABP, Impella, or with epicardial pacing wires depending on unit needs
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
• Facility does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius of the main campus
• Must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• System allows a 2 contract limit for day shift and 3 contract limit for night shift, with a 6-month break required before reapplying as a traveler after reaching extension limits
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days, with only 1 holiday approved for time off
• First-time travelers are not preferred but may be considered based on years of experience at manager's discretion
• Pre-start completion of non-billable training modules (4-10 hours) required
