CVICU RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state license in hand at time of submission
• At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in the CVICU or a closely related cardiac ICU setting
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty within the past 12 months
• Ability to complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
• Willingness to work at least every other holiday
• Must be prepared to complete required compliance and onboarding steps promptly

CVICU Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to cardiovascular and critically ill cardiac patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
• Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and changes in patient condition with a strong focus on patient safety
• Administer medications, therapies, and treatments according to critical care standards and unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support effective care planning and improved patient outcomes
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Respond quickly to evolving patient needs and maintain a calm, professional presence in a high-acuity setting
