Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position at a Trauma Level I teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of CVICU/ICU experience and a PA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool role within a hospital ICU setting
• Adult patient population with ratios ranging from 1:1 to 3:1
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating required across critical care units
• No on-call responsibilities
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience in a Teaching Hospital and Trauma Level I facility preferred
• Critical Care Float Pool experience preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, blood product administration, peripheral IV starts, and wound management
• Experience with vascular and cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, IABP, TAVR, and VAD preferred
• Must complete required labs within 48 hours of signing and PA fingerprinting within 1 week of signing
• Valid references and certification copies required for consideration
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no changes accepted after submission

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across float ICU units within a Trauma Level I academic teaching hospital
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate differential
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
• Pass/Fail clinical exam required for clearance, with a maximum of 3 attempts
• Orientation includes required training modules completed within the first 8 hours to remain non-billable
