Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit – Tuscaloosa, AL

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holidays as required. 36 or 48 hours per week available.

Highlights:

• 13-week assignment in a 4-bed Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit specializing in adult and geriatric cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients
• Work with complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring and post-operative recovery focused on patient-centered care
• Supported by a dedicated cardiovascular educator and collaborative team environment
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with opportunities for additional shifts
• Biweekly orientation program with comprehensive onboarding support

Requirements:

• Active Alabama or Compact state RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• Associate's degree in nursing (ASN) required
• AHA BLS and NIHSS certification required; AHA PALS preferred if working in pediatric unit
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Basic exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Must pass Validation Cardiac Dysrhythmia exam on first day of assignment
• Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
• Proficiency with Meditech charting system preferred
