- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110 - $2,220
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Floating: Float within specialty and to IMC as needed
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 on days and nights
- Setting: High-acuity cardiovascular critical care unit
Job Requirements
- Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU nursing experience and/or open heart experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- ACLS and BLS required
- CPI certification required for compliance
- Epic experience preferred
- Strong experience caring for post-cardiac surgery, cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patients
- Ability to float within scope and support sister units as needed
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiovascular ICU environment
Responsibilities
- Provide expert critical care for adult and geriatric CVICU patients recovering from cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures
- Monitor and manage complex post-operative cases, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, EVAR, and VATS
- Support advanced therapies and equipment such as ventilators, FloTrac, CRRT, IABP, and Impella
- Perform arterial line management, central line care, chest tube care, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips according to patient needs and unit protocols
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, timely patient care
- Provide immediate post-op cardiac surgery care, including close monitoring during the first critical hours after surgery
- Maintain strong infection prevention, isolation precaution, and medication administration practices
