Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience, advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting within a Magnet-designated, teaching facility with Level III Trauma designation
  • Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with floating expected throughout the ICU community, including Med/Surg ICU and Neuro ICU
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Charting system: Epic/Excellian (experience required)
  • Key equipment includes PA catheters, LVAD/RVAD/Impella, IABP, ventilators, temporary pacemakers, Prismaflex (CRRT), HeartMate 2 & 3, CentriMag, Balloon Pump, and Endotool for glucose monitoring
  • ECMO and CRRT with Prismaflex experience preferred
  • Open heart recovery directly from the OR strongly preferred
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted at time of offer)
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • PA catheter interpretation and analysis required
  • LVAD/RVAD, Impella, and IABP experience required
  • CRRT experience required
  • Hemodynamic monitoring experience required
  • Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
  • First-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include management of post-cardiac surgery patients, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, CRRT, cardiac drip titration, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Candidates with previous permanent (staff or per diem) employment at this health system must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked
  • RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days for the duration of the contract
  • Pre-start modules are required and must be completed prior to the start date
  • Fingerprinting is required as a Minnesota state mandate; only 25 states outside of Minnesota can perform LiveScan prints, and candidates should arrange this as early as possible as results can take 1 day to 3–4 weeks
  • Candidates will not be cleared to start without fingerprint results on file — no exceptions
