Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on the posted schedule
• Floating required to other ICU units within the hospital, but not to sister hospitals
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license, or proof of pending license, required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably in CVICU including open heart cases
• Prior travel nursing experience required, ideally with 2+ travel assignments beyond initial hospital
• Experience with vents, IV starts, PA lines, Impella, IABP, and VAD (LVAD/RVAD) required
• Proficiency with pacers, Swan-Ganz catheters, and post-op cardiac care required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Lung and heart transplant experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred but not required

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical patients
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• RTO limited to 7 days in November/December, may span one holiday, and must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
• Former UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a travel RN
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
