Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring CRRT, Swan-Ganz, and mechanical circulatory support (MCS) experience with a UT or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Rotating shifts available, including nights or rotating day/night (3x12 hours)
• Night shift hours are 19:00-7:30 and day shift hours are 7:30-19:00
• Care for post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR) requiring advanced cardiovascular monitoring and support
• Uses Epic charting system
• Up to 10 days RTO available per 13-week contract, with additional RTO available proportionally based on contract length

Requirements

• Active RN license (UT or Compact) required, pending license accepted but must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required experience with CRRT/CVVHD, Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery Line monitoring, and mechanical circulatory support (MCS) including Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, and ECMO
• Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience managing continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care
• Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE

• Provide advanced critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular surgical patients

• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Previous full-time employees of the facility are not permitted to return as travelers under any circumstances
