Registered Nurse – CVICU
Facility: Ardent Health Services Lovelace Medical Center (Heart Hospital)
Location: Albuquerque, NM

Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00)
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours/week (48 hours at straight time)
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Charting System: EPIC
Float Required: Not Specified
Call Requirement: None
Note: Previous travel experience preferred. Pending NM/Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start).
Position Overview:
Job duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU.
- Monitor and manage ventilated patients, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP).
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and continuous IV sedation per protocol.
- Care for post-cardiac surgery, TAVR, cardiac catheterization, and ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) patients.
- Perform central line management, blood product administration, CRRT/CVVHD care, and continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring.
Requirements:
License: Registered Nurse License; Pending NM/Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start)
Experience: Minimum 2 years CVICU experience; previous travel experience preferred
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Other requirement: Experience with ventilator management, IABP, Swan-Ganz monitoring, post-cardiac surgery care, CRRT/CVVHD, dysrhythmia management, and IV insulin protocols.
Unit Details:
Unit: CVICU (5050-1001 – Heart Hospital)
Patient Ratios: 1:2 (Days, Nights, Weekends)
Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Post-cardiac surgery, cardiovascular critical care, cardiac catheterization/intervention, TAVR, heart failure requiring LVAD/RVAD, acute renal failure requiring CRRT/CVVHD, stroke, and multisystem organ dysfunction.
Choice of 3x12 or 4x12 schedule available.
