Description

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a circulating position requiring 2+ years of CVOR experience and current BLS certification.

Details

  • Circulating role in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), scrubbing not required
  • Short-term acute care hospital setting with an average daily census of 70-80 patients across 24 rooms
  • Performs cardiovascular procedures including heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, aortic aneurysm repair, and ECMO
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 11:00 to 21:30
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • Call requirement of approximately 100 hours per 6-week period, including one call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening through Monday morning)
  • Floating required to other OR specialties, within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted if candidate has Level I Trauma experience
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • Cardiovascular and aortic aneurysm repair skills required
  • 2 supervisor references required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

Additional Information

  • Provide circulating support for complex cardiovascular surgical cases including transplants and aortic procedures
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved, with additional time off subject to facility approval
  • Local IN residents are accepted for this position, though local candidates receive a reduced pay package
  • Any current or former IU Health PRN/perm employee must be separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a designated break to reset eligibility, with break length depending on in-state or out-of-state residency
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet the Level I Trauma experience requirement
