Job Summary Operating Room (OR) with specialization in Open Heart at Springfield. This position involves providing specialized perioperative care for cardiac surgery patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role requires oversight of patient care before, during, and after cardiac procedures, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Job Details
Schedule: Night shift, 1900-0700, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that is eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri. BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
Required Qualifications: RN license valid in Missouri or eligible, BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA, 1 year of experience in the operating room with a focus on open heart procedures.
Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to provide patient care related to cardiac surgeries and medical comorbidities, monitoring patient progress, maintaining patient rights, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Additional patient care activities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the scope of nursing practice, adhering to the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, hospital standards, and mission.
Utilizes equipment such as Philips monitors, chest tubes, art lines, and pacing wires, among others.
Must be available for float rotation on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg units.
Submission requirements: Candidates must have at least 1 year of recent relevant clinical experience.
