Job Summary: Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Registered Nurse (RN) Portland, Oregon. This position involves providing specialized cardiac surgical nursing care within a Short Term Acute Care facility. The role requires flexibility to float between units and facilities, with on-call responsibilities in accordance with the units needs.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/31/2026
Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, 2 years of clinical experience, at least 1 year of OR and open heart experience, proficiency with Epic charting system, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), minimum of 2 references covering the last 3 years, ability to work on-call, must have a vehicle for the assignment
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with cardiovascular procedures and specialized cardiac scrub skills, experience with interdisciplinary support teams, flexibility to float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals, familiarity with complex cardiac surgeries such as Aortic Aneurysm repair and Mitral valve replacement
Additional Information: The role involves working in a Short Term Acute Care setting with approximately 536 beds, offering a fast-paced environment requiring strong cardiac surgical skills. Candidates must be willing to work holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day) and anticipate floating to various units and facilities as needed. Travel compliance requirements include a total of 6 days of RTO or 3 consecutive days, with requests to be made upfront. The position also includes modules training and self-reported completion in Workramp.
