Job Summary: The organization is seeking an Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Open Heart procedures in Denton, Texas. This position involves working in a facility with a dedicated cardiac surgical unit, providing specialized perioperative care for patients undergoing open heart surgeries. The role offers an opportunity to work with a team experienced in cardiac care within a busy hospital environment.

Location: Denton, Texas
Shift: Day shift, 12-hour hours
Schedule: 36 hours per week
Start Date: 09/07/2026
Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, 1 year of OR experience, no specific location requirements, and minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
Type of staff: Day shift staff include 32 members with 1 charge nurse and 1 board runner; night shift includes 2 staff members (1 RN and 1 CST).
Patient Ratios: 1:1 for cardiac patients
Unit Information: 13 beds, staffed by 62 personnel, equipped with EMR Meditech system.
Procedures performed on unit: CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting) and other open heart surgeries.
Additional Information: On-call requirement of 2 nights per week and 1 weekend per month. No floating required. The ideal candidate must have experience circulating hearts or have skills related to cardiac perioperative care. Candidates without these skills will not be considered.
