Job Summary Operating Room, Open Heart (OR OH) Dallas, TX. This position involves working in a dedicated pediatric cardiac surgical unit with a focus on pediatric congenital heart procedures. The assigned shifts are days, with a rotation of call responsibilities based on a self-scheduling system. The role requires collaboration within a high-performing team in a fast-growing pediatric cardiac center.
Job Details:
Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications: 3 years of experience, certifications in pediatric cardiac or operating room nursing, appropriate education and degree, located in or willing to travel to Dallas, TX
Preferred Qualifications: Experience specifically in pediatric cardiovascular operating room, CVOR scrub skills (not mandatory but highly preferred), and operating room experience with cardiac procedures
On Call Requirement: Yes, rotating and self-scheduling
Float Requirement: No
Unit Information: Pediatric open heart surgery unit with 2 beds and 9 staff members (4 CSTs and 5 RNs during day shifts), with a Meditech electronic medical record system
Typical Procedures: Open heart surgery on pediatric congenital heart patients, bedside sternal closures, and washout procedures in the ICU
General Comments: A fast-growing pediatric cardiac center with collaborations across pediatric cath lab, echo, and anesthesia teams, providing a dedicated pediatric cardiac service line
