Job Summary Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Nurse in the Illinois area. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic procedures within a Level I trauma center. The position supports a busy surgical environment, focusing on complex cardiovascular surgeries and vascular procedures.
Job Details
Position / Specialty: OR OH Operating Room Open Heart
Shift: 5x8 Days (06:15 AM 02:45 PM)
Schedule: Days shift, 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois RN license or in application process, BLS certification, a minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiovascular, thoracic, or vascular surgery; experience in trauma and Level I trauma centers preferred, experience with complex cardiovascular procedures such as Aortic Aneurysm repair, CABG, TAVR, and related vascular surgeries, and Laparoscopic assisted procedures.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in acute care hospital settings, Level II trauma experience, and familiarity with Cerner charting system.
Responsibilities include assisting with cardiovascular, thoracic, and endoscopic procedures, and working within infection control and safety protocols, including laser safety and universal protocol procedures.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS.
On-Call Requirement: Call 1-2 nights weekly and every 5th weekend.
RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Submission Requirements: Confirm understanding of role, compliance, and housing; provide SSN and DOB; schedule interview windows; and confirm availability for upcoming holidays.
