Job Summary:
The operating room open heart specialty position is based in Iowa City. This role involves working in a high-acuity cardiac surgery environment, supporting a team with a focus on cardiothoracic, peripheral vascular, and transplant procedures. It requires scrubbing on complex cases and participating in a team rotation for on-call duties.
Job Details:
Schedule: Evenings shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Certifications, education, or degrees are not specified; candidates must have at least 2 years of strong cardiovascular operating room experience. Experience in large level 1 or 2 trauma centers is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to scrub cardiac cases, with required scrubbing skill checklists included in the application packet.
Preferred Qualifications: Large level 1 or 2 trauma experience, proficiency in cardiothoracic, peripheral vascular, and transplant surgeries, along with documented cardiac scrub skills.
Additional Information: The position requires participation in a rotation involving on-call duties once per week, including a 24-hour call on weekends in a four-week cycle. Candidates should have substantial cardiac scrub experience and must include their OR scrubbing skills checklist in the submission.
