**Join Our Dynamic Cardiovascular Progressive Care Team!** **Job Description:** - Exciting opportunity to work in the 4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit! - Location: Asheville, NC - A beautiful city renowned for its vibrant arts scene and outdoor activities! **Unit Information:** - **Primary Patient Population:** - CV surgery and vascular surgery, including: - Open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc.) - Thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.) - Esophagogastrectomy - AAA (open and endovascular) - Fem-pop bypass - Carotid endarterectomies - Overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, etc. - **Number of Beds:** 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds - **Staffing:** Approximately 100 total staff members - **Day Shift:** - 1 Charge RN (often out of staffing) - 13 RNs - 4 PCTs - 1.33 HUC - **Night Shift:** - 1 Charge RN (often out of staffing) - 13 RNs - 4 PCTs - 0.33 HUC - **Patient Ratios:** 1:5 patients per RN, 1:13 for PCTs - **Equipment:** - Baxter IV pumps - CADD epidural pumps - Various lifts - **EMR:** Cerner **Qualifications:** - **Required Skills:** - Stepdown experience - Telemetry experience - **Preferred Skills:** - Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery experience within the last year - CVICU experience **Typical Procedures Performed:** - Epidural management - Chest tube management - Tube feedings - IV gluccomander - Cardiac gtt management (e.g., phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine) **Personality Fit:** - Team player - Thrives in a fast-paced environment - Flexible **Certifications:** - Current ACLS and BLS certifications required **Dress Code:** - Scrub color/attire: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white **Work Schedule:** - Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period - Flexibility to work through the holidays **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
