Unit Details
- Operating Rooms: 6 OR suites + 1 hybrid OR
- Daily Case Volume: 20–30 cases
- Charting: Cerner
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of full-time OR experience
- AHA BLS & ACLS
- Experience with:
- Total joints
- General Surgery
- Spine
- Urology
- Cardiovascular/Open Heart (CVOR)
- CVOR experience required
- Circulating required (RN scrubbing not required)
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Shifts:
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Rotating call required
Call Requirements
- General OR: 4–5 weekday call shifts per 6 weeks
- CVOR: 5–10 weekday call shifts per 6 weeks
- Weekend Call:
- General OR: 5 twelve-hour shifts per 6 weeks
- CVOR: 2 weekends per 6 weeks
- Holiday call: 2–3 twelve-hour shifts per year
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Travelers begin taking call after 1–2 weeks
Float
- Rarely floats
- May assist on inpatient units with non-clinical tasks (meal trays, patient sitting)
- Will not float to Pre-Op or PACU
