CVOR Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,480–$2,610
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Healthcare Setting: On-site cardiovascular operating room (CVOR)
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Schedule: Overnight coverage in a 24/7 operating room; fixed or rotating weekends and holidays may be required based on unit needs
- Call: None
- Scheduling: No block scheduling; flexibility is required
- Charting System: Epic
CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of overall operating room nursing experience
- At least 2 years of cardiac and vascular operating room experience
- At least 1 year of dedicated cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility
- Demonstrated scrub experience in complex cardiac and vascular cases; scrub experience is required
- Experience with cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, transplant, and general operating room procedures
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Valid Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Experience with Epic clinical documentation
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Flu vaccination is required; approved medical exemptions may be considered
CVOR RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, skilled perioperative nursing care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing complex cardiovascular and vascular procedures
- Scrub cardiac, thoracic, vascular, transplant, and general operating room cases
- Support procedures including CABG, valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, dissection repair, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, fistula procedures, amputations, ECMO-related cases, and other high-acuity interventions
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field
- Demonstrate proficiency with specialized equipment and procedures, including LVAD/RVAD, intra-aortic balloon pump, hybrid OR procedures, robotic cardiac surgery, and thoracic interventions
- Participate in specimen handling, medication and blood product administration, surgical counts, infection prevention, universal protocol, and time-out procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, perfusionists, and the interdisciplinary surgical team to promote excellent patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and respond effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
