CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Nurse Contract in Columbus, Ohio
Join a high-acuity cardiovascular operating room as a CVOR Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift travel nursing contract in Columbus, Ohio. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced operating room nurse who is confident scrubbing and circulating complex cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and transplant cases. Support overnight operations in a 24/7 surgical setting while collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary perioperative team.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,480–$2,610
- Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210—a vibrant, welcoming city known for its diverse neighborhoods, excellent food scene, arts and cultural attractions, and abundant parks and outdoor activities
- Assignment Type: 13-week CVOR travel nurse contract
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Hours: 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular operating room supporting a 24/7 surgical program
- Call: Not required
- Scheduling: No block scheduling; flexibility for weekends and holidays is required based on unit needs

CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of overall operating room nursing experience
- At least 2 years of cardiac and vascular surgery experience
- At least 1 year of dedicated cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma facility
- Demonstrated scrub experience with cardiac and vascular procedures is required
- Experience with cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, transplant, and general operating room cases
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, including a valid compact or Ohio nursing license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- EPIC electronic health record and clinical documentation experience
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Ability to meet healthcare credentialing requirements and provide two professional references, including at least one formal leadership reference
CVOR Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, skilled perioperative nursing care for complex cardiovascular and vascular procedures
- Scrub and circulate for procedures including CABG, valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, dissection repair, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, vascular bypass, fistula procedures, thoracotomy, VATS, transplant, and LVAD/RVAD cases
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, medications, and specialized cardiac technology for scheduled procedures
- Support emergency and trauma cases while maintaining strict infection prevention, radiation safety, laser safety, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
- Perform surgical counts, specimen handling and labeling, universal protocol, and time-out procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and the broader perioperative team to promote efficient, high-quality patient care
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC and communicate critical information throughout the perioperative process
- Adapt to a fast-paced overnight schedule and contribute to dependable 24/7 operating room coverage
