• Location: Washington, DC 20010
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours
• Shifts Per Week: 5 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday, primarily 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM; occasional start times as early as 6:00 AM or 6:15 AM
• Orientation: 28 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,610 - $2,750

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required for submission
• 3 years of nursing experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• 3-5 years of experience with both scrub and circulate responsibilities preferred
• Experience in a CVOR, cardiothoracic surgery, or high-acuity surgical services setting strongly preferred
• C-EFM NCC certification required at time of submission
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
• Membership or active involvement with AORN preferred
• Experience creating competencies and understanding clinical standards preferred
• Level I trauma experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical education and support for CVOR nursing staff in a fast-paced surgical services environment
• Assess educational needs and identify performance gaps within the operating room unit
• Develop and implement targeted training, onboarding, and competency programs
• Teach surgical services content, procedures, and best practices for cardiac surgery nursing
• Support scrub and circulate functions in a complex CVOR and cardiothoracic surgery setting
• Collaborate with surgeons, perioperative staff, and the care team to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Use evidence-based practice and clinical standards to guide education and staff development
• Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and learner evaluation
• Promote infection control, workplace safety, and universal precautions
• Help support a collaborative environment across an advanced CVOR program
