This vital role involves working within a cath lab setting, supporting hospital and medical staff by performing invasive cardiovascular procedures. Key Responsibilities of the Cardiovascular Technologist- Assist in scrubbing and utilizing sterile technique for invasive cardiovascular procedures including angioplasty
- Prepare surgical trays and tables for procedures
- Monitor patient's hemodynamic status and ECG
- Collect and enter patient information into the physiologic monitoring system
- Conduct pre-procedure interviews to obtain medical history and educate patients
- Prepare cath lab and equipment prior to invasive testing
- Position patients and connect monitoring devices
- Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices and obtain hemostasis
Requirements of the Cardiovascular Technologist- State of CT Radiographer license
- ARRT (R) and/or RCIS certification through CCI
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab
