Must-Have: Great organizational skills Description: The Cytologist participates in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in the processing and screening of cytologic specimens. This role is essential for detecting evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions. The Cytologist ensures efficient and accurate testing of patient specimens. Key responsibilities include screening slides of clinical specimens, both gynecologic and non-gynecologic. The Cytologist marks abnormalities, renders diagnoses, and determines cases for quality control or subsequent review with a pathologist. They perform various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures. Compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols is vital. Evaluating acceptability associated with department testing is part of the role. The Cytologist participates in the collection, processing, and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations. Knowledge of specimen processing techniques is applied to meet department requirements. This position requires strong organizational skills.
