- Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited school of cytotechnology or associate degree with one-year internship in an accredited school of cytotechnology; at least three years of experience in a clinical lab setting
- Preferred Qualifications: Licensure / Registered - CT (ASCP) American Society for Clinical Pathology (preferred)
- Position Responsibilities:
- Promote the facilitys mission, vision, and values by effectively communicating them
- Coordinate and direct all administrative and laboratory procedures within the section
- Ensure departmental compliance with regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission, College of American Pathologists (CAP), and CLIA
- Review quality of test results and quality control procedures, making judgments to maintain accuracy
- Screen gynecological specimens promptly, accurately, and efficiently, reporting diagnostic results
- Identify infectious agents, abnormal cell changes, and classify specimens appropriately
- Enter results into Laboratory Information System (LIS) and verify for report release
- Participate in training, orientation, and proficiency testing of staff
- Maintain policies and procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Assist in evaluating new instruments and products as needed
- Maintain accurate quality control and assurance records
- Perform related duties as required
