Must-Have: DENTAL ASSISTANT Description: The Dental Assistant is responsible for professional dental assistance during the treatment of inmates/residents. The position involves significant interaction with inmates/residents in a correctional institution. The incumbent should be able to perform various functions at a pace and level aligned with job performance requirements. Assist the dentist with the treatment of inmates/residents by setting up instruments for each patient and treatment to be rendered. Prepare impressions and filling materials. After each treatment, sterilize the dental unit and instruments used. Replace instruments prior to the next patient treatment. Control medication, syringes, and other dental supplies or equipment; inventory as needed per established procedures. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and the work area; utilize appropriate sanitation methods. Review dental services provided to prevent inappropriate use or duplication of services. Review the status of inmates/residents for completion of all necessary interventions, treatments, and services.
