Participates in patient education. Trains dental hygiene students with minimal supervision. May require access to storage areas where medications are kept. Performs oral prophylaxis and removes hard and soft deposits and stains from surfaces of teeth. Polishes all surfaces of teeth. Applies topical fluoride to the teeth. Reviews medical and dental health history. Records and takes blood pressure. Charts dental disease. Utilizes specific software for charting and charge entry.
