Job Title: Dietetic Technician Profession: Dietary Services Specialty: Dietetic Technician Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (11:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hospital nutrition-related work experience or enrolled in an approved education program License: NY license required Certifications: Food Safety Certification in hand at the time of booking required Must-Have: - HS Diploma/GED required - Associate's degree required - Good verbal and written communication skills - Interpersonal skills - Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite or internal electronic feeding management system - Good math skills Description: This is a 59-day assignment. The shift is from 11 AM to 7 PM. A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate's degree is also required. Preference will be given to students in nutrition or a related field. Food Safety Certification must be held at the time of booking. A minimum of 2 years of hospital nutrition-related work experience is required. Alternatively, candidates may be enrolled in an education program approved by the department. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Interpersonal skills must be well-developed. Proficiency in computers, including Microsoft Office Suite or an internal electronic feeding management system, is necessary. Candidates should possess good math skills. Experience delivering meals and food preparation is necessary. There is a requirement to practice good infection control. Knowledge of storage and ordering of supplies is needed. Time management skills are crucial for success in this role. Candidates should be prepared to work rotating weekends and holidays. Total time off cannot exceed 10 days combined. Experience with charting systems, preferably EPIC, is preferred. This position may involve communication with registered dietitians and registered nurses. The role includes computerized documentation and storage and ordering of supplies.
