Key Responsibilities
Provide medical nutrition therapy services and monitor nutritional care for clients/patients/residents across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Conduct nutritional assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nutrition therapy including diet modification, nutrition support, and oral nutrition supplements
Deliver education and counseling for disease and nutrition risk management, and evaluate outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions
Optimize self-management education for clients/patients/residents with chronic conditions
Recognize and address nutritional needs based on cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs using an evidence-based approach
Develop and lead nutrition care protocols for the assigned area, educating on diet according to disease state, medical condition, and health risk
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in dietetics or food and nutrition through an ACEND-accredited program (master's degree required for those qualifying for the registration exam after January 1, 2024)
Clinical nutrition experience through an approved coordinated undergraduate program or successful completion of a post-graduate internship
Currently holds Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through CDR
Active Minnesota (MN) state dietitian license required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working across multiple care settings including acute care, skilled nursing, outpatient, and/or community settings
Familiarity with nutrition care protocols and experience serving as a nutrition therapy leader within a multidisciplinary health care team
