Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure appropriate nutritional care for all residents in accordance with physician orders, state and federal regulations, and individualized resident care plans
• Ensure nutritious and appetizing meals, snacks, and supplements are planned, prepared, and served in a pleasant atmosphere
• Assess residents' nutritional needs and document nutritional care provided in accordance with applicable scope of practice
• Promote resident independence and choice consistent with care plans while maintaining privacy and confidentiality
• Observe and report residents' conditions to appropriate staff, receiving and sharing relevant information as needed
• Follow infection control procedures and applicable OSHA and CDC guidelines related to bloodborne pathogens while serving food, assisting residents, and cleaning

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited college program in dietetics or a related field
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly American Dietetic Association) and/or state licensure as required
• Ability to measure and comprehend quantities relevant to nutritional care
• Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks required by the role, including moving, positioning, and operating tools or equipment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior applicable work experience in a dietitian or nutritional care role
• Familiarity with long-term care or residential care settings and related regulatory requirements
