Contract | Days | Full-Time | 5x8-Hour Shifts (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) | Onsite | Floating Required | Weekend rotation as needed
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments for pediatric acute care patients across a large and diverse patient population
Develop and implement individualized plans of treatment including therapeutic diet orders, enteral nutrition, and total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
Perform Nutrition Focused Physical Exams (NFPE) and monitor fluid balance, electrolyte requirements, and metabolic demands
Collaborate within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based nutritional care
Float across units as required and participate in weekend rotation with the inpatient adult team approximately every two months or as needed
Contribute to protocol development and program initiatives aligned with health equity and evidence-based practice
Required Qualifications
Active RD or RDN credential required
Minimum of 2 years of overall work experience with at least 2 years of pediatric acute care experience
Proficiency with enteral and parenteral nutrition support
Experience managing complex conditions including diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, renal disease, dialysis/hemodialysis/CRRT, cirrhosis, dysphagia, refeeding syndrome, and malnutrition
Familiarity with relevant medications including insulin, diuretics, immunosuppressants, steroids, laxatives, and appetite stimulants
Acute care hospital and/or ICU experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a teaching hospital or academic medical center setting with interdisciplinary team collaboration
Background in adult outpatient or clinic dietetics in addition to acute care
Experience with aspiration safety, chronic wound management, and oncology nutrition
Familiarity with health equity initiatives and serving large, diverse patient populations
