Key Responsibilities- Complete nutrition assessments and provide medical nutrition therapy using the nutrition care process in a timely manner
- Deliver individualized nutrition care to patients within the scope of practice per the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary care team and participate in Performance Improvement projects
- Provide nutrition education for patients, families, medical and non-medical staff, and the community
Required Qualifications- Active Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the State of Maryland
- Bachelor's degree or verification statement from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics confirming completion of Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) requirements
- Active status as Registered Dietitian (RD), Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), or Registered Dietitian Eligible (RDE) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with physicians, patients, families, and hospital staff
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and situations with discretion
- Must be able to read, speak, and write English proficiently
Preferred Experience / Skills- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
