Job Title: Multimodality Technologist Profession: Multimodality Tech Specialty: Multimodality Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum experience in X-ray and CT License: TX MRT Certifications: BLS (AHA Only), ARRT (R) & (CT) Description: The Multimodality Technologist performs imaging procedures in two or more disciplines, such as X-ray, CT, and others as requested by a physician or other licensed provider. This role involves performing high-quality multimodality procedures according to established protocols in a timely manner. The technologist maintains the quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and protocols. An understanding of radiation dose reference levels and appropriate actions to take when the levels are exceeded is required. The role includes using point-of-care testing for obtaining relevant medical levels when applicable. Utilizing AIDET to communicate with patients is essential to ensure the correct exam is performed and to build rapport. Clear and calm communication with patients and their families regarding the procedures is necessary. Preparing patients and the area for procedures involves proper positioning, utilizing immobilization devices, and ensuring equipment is set correctly. Adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug, and radiation policies is critical to protect both patients and employees. Maintaining equipment and work areas to meet cleanliness and quality standards is also part of the role. The Technologist collaborates with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. The position also involves maintaining supplies inventory and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Key success factors include the ability to perform high-quality procedures, effectively explain procedures to patients, and provide timely, accurate services. The Technologist is expected to work independently without routine oversight while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor.
