Job Title: Multimodality Radiology Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: Tuesday-Thursday 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Friday 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, Saturday 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current Professional Licensure/Certification Required Certifications: Current ARRT (R), Current IEMA Radiography, BLS Required Must-Have: Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs Description: The Multimodality Radiology Technologist performs various Radiographic Imaging procedures on patients in a physician office, clinic, and/or hospital setting as requested by a Physician or other licensed Provider and under the general supervision of a Radiologist. The primary focus is on the diagnosis of disease and injury following established protocols. The Technologist must effectively explain the procedure to the patient, ensuring they are comfortable and at ease during the exam. Care is provided to patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Accurately orders tests from outpatient orders and faxes reports and scans orders and reports. Ensures correct patient identity using two patient identifiers. Performs tests within standardized time frames and checks the majority of images for technical quality before releasing the patient. Documents and completes required paperwork accurately and completely. Explains the test/procedure to the patient and/or family, ensuring understanding to alleviate fears and gain cooperation. Shows willingness to answer questions, giving patients full attention while in their presence. Assesses work needs and completes tasks in order of priority in the assigned work area. Maintains a safe and up-to-date working knowledge of all imaging equipment and follows safety procedures. Completes routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintains department equipment. Assists with calibration of equipment ensuring proper documentation is completed. Operates in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of healthcare errors. Utilizes established hand-off communication protocols. Reviews department inventory levels and maintains an appropriate level of supplies. Demonstrates flexibility in work schedules and complies with all established safety procedures. Participates in performance improvement activities.
