Job Title: Multimodality/Radiology Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: Tuesday-Thursday 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Friday 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, Saturday 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current Professional Licensure/Certification Required Certifications: Current ARRT (R), Current IEMA Radiography, BLS Must-Have: Radiography, Mammography, CT scanning and operative C-arm procedures minimum 2 years preferred; Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs; Excellent communication and customer service skills Description: The Multimodality Technologist performs a combination of Radiographic Imaging procedures on patients in various settings as requested by a Physician or other licensed Provider. This role requires working under the general supervision of a Radiologist for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. The Multimodality Technologist must effectively explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort during exams. They provide care to patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Responsibilities include accurately ordering tests, entering diagnosis codes, and obtaining signed ABNs when necessary. The Technologist ensures correct patient identity using two patient identifiers and performs tests within standardized time frames. They check the majority of images for technical quality prior to releasing the patient and ensures documentation is accurate and complete. Explaining tests and procedures to patients and families, alleviating fears, and gaining cooperation is essential. Assessing work needs and completing tasks in order of priority in the assigned work area is required. The Technologist must maintain safe working knowledge of all imaging equipment while following standard precautions and utilizing radiation safety practices. Completing routine cleaning and maintaining department equipment also falls within their duties. Engagement in performance improvement activities is encouraged. Demonstrating flexibility in work schedules and complying with safety procedures are vital for ensuring a safe environment for all.
