AlliedTravelCareers is working with Jackson HealthPros to find a qualified Echo Tech in Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87505!
Join our team as an Echo Ultrasound Tech / Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist and operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, prepare patients for echocardiogram procedures, and produce detailed cardiac images for interpretation by clinical teams.
Minimum Requirements:
- ARDMS or CCI registration required, or registry eligible; comparable national accreditation acceptable.
- State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required.
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association required.
- Two years of actively performing echocardiograms preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a two-year allied health education program (patient care related) preferred. Allied health backgrounds such as diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, or registered nurse are applicable.
- Skills: effective communication; strong organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively across disciplines; ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions; manual dexterity to perform echocardiograms.
- Client requirement: ability to assist cardiologists during exams, perform 2D, M-mode and Doppler cardiac exams, participate in departmental performance improvement activities, and share responsibility for on-call echo emergency coverage as department policy dictates (on-call expectation is a client requirement).
- Preferred: prior experience in hospital-based echocardiography environments and familiarity with pediatric and adult echo exams.

- Clinical duties include diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients, assisting cardiologists during dictation, logging and filing patient records, maintaining equipment quality control, and ordering supplies.
