Description:
This position performs clinical assessments and diagnostic tests.
The Echo Tech will explain tests to patients.
They will perform two-dimensional and M-Mode echocardiograms, with or without Doppler.
Reports will be prepared for physicians.
The technician will operate and maintain computerized and electronic equipment.
Maintaining lab supplies and sterile supplies is essential.
Participation in education related to the pediatric residency program is required.
The role includes instructing other personnel on clinical and technical parts of cardio echo testing procedures.
Cross-training in other areas will be part of the responsibilities.
The technician will attend lectures and meetings to stay updated on current developments in the field.
Identifying patients and evaluating for medical precautions is critical.
They will review patient cases with the physician prior to starting cardiac procedures.
Data results from tests will be reviewed, and results reported per hospital policy and procedures.
Questionable results will be discussed with the physician-in-charge prior to release.
Assistance with records and preparation of monthly statistics is expected.
Maintaining equipment and materials in compliance with hospital policy is necessary.
The role requires keeping an orderly and safe laboratory area as per policy.
Assistance in maintaining stock and supply inventory will be needed.
Scheduling patient tests is part of the job duties.
In the absence of senior personnel, supervisory duties may be assigned.
Performing other special projects and duties as assigned is required.
