The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for independently performing comprehensive echocardiograms, including bubble studies and stress echo, in hospital-based and/or outpatient settings. As such, this role requires advanced knowledge of congenital anatomy, surgical repairs, and age-dependent physiology, and directly supports high-acuity diagnostic and clinical decision-making. The sonographer is expected to understand the patient's exam rationale, acquire high-quality diagnostic images, and provide accurate preliminary findings in a timely manner. The sonographer will comply with patient privacy and safety guidelines and adhere to departmental and hospital policies. Responsibilities may change over time at the discretion of department leadership to meet the department's evolving needs.
