Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) according to physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Obtain diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images to assist physicians in evaluating cardiac function and anatomy
  • Prepare and position patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout the procedure
  • Recognize abnormal cardiac findings and communicate urgent results to the interpreting physician when appropriate
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment
  • Accurately document patient history, imaging findings, and procedure details in the electronic medical record
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and report maintenance needs promptly
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program
  • Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) credential preferred or required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent echocardiography experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Experience performing adult transthoracic echocardiograms
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic imaging techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and image quality standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care
