Travel Echo Tech - $2,488 to $2,688 per week in Portland, ME

Join our team as an Echo Ultrasound Tech / Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist and use your expertise to operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, compassionately prepare patients for echocardiogram procedure, and produce detailed images of the heart for interpretation by healthcare teams.

Minimum Requirements:

• National certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience required.
• At least 2 years of acute inpatient echocardiography experience in a Level I trauma center or comparable tertiary care facility.
• Proficiency in transthoracic (TTE), stress echo, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE); experience with 3D echo and strain imaging preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize image quality, including experience with ultrasound contrast agents.
• Experience managing high-volume workflows in critical care or inpatient settings.
• Strong patient care and communication skills and effective time management.
• Familiarity with ASE and IAC standards and lab protocols to maintain accreditation and diagnostic accuracy.
• BLS certification.

Assignment Details

• Facility type: Hospital.
• Shift Name: Days.
• Shift Details: Days 06:30–17:00 (10-hour shifts), total 40 hours per week.
• Schedule expectations: Rotating days with rotating weekends and required overnight on-call coverage 2–3 nights per month (call window 17:00–06:30) with strict guidelines and cardiologist approval for call-in.
• Daily workload: Approximately 7–8 echocardiograms per day.
• Floating: May be required to float within the health system to meet clinical needs.
