Echocardiology Technologist – Travel Contract

Contract: 13 weeks (91 days)
Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours/week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, four 8-hour day shifts/week
Start: Wednesdays
Position Urgency: Normal

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), including routine and limited studies.
• Perform contrast and bubble studies according to departmental protocols.
• Obtain accurate cardiac measurements and high-quality diagnostic images for cardiologist interpretation.
• Evaluate patient history and clinical indications to optimize imaging and examination techniques.
• Recognize significant cardiac abnormalities and communicate urgent findings appropriately.
• Provide echocardiography services for inpatients, outpatients, ED patients, and surgical patients.
• Work collaboratively with cardiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain patient safety, comfort, privacy, and a high-quality patient experience.
• Apply knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and cardiac ultrasound techniques.
• Exercise independent clinical judgment while supporting timely diagnosis and treatment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required.
• BLS – American Heart Association required.
• Minimum 1 year of echocardiography experience.
• Travel experience required.
• Strong cardiac imaging and Doppler knowledge.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
