Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an MD license or compact license and 2 years of recent experience, including care for ED boarder patients.

Details

• MS/Tele unit caring for ED Boarder patients in the ED or ASU area
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
• Floating to MS/Tele units as needed
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state license or compact license) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required within the last 7 years
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to boarder patients in the ED and ASU areas as well as MS/Tele patients
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers not eligible; prior travel experience required for consideration
