Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for Connecticut practice
• At least 1.5-2 years of Emergency Department RN or similar acute care experience preferred
• Experience in a Level I trauma center or comparable high-acuity emergency nursing setting is highly valued
• Current BLS, ACLS, and TNCC required
• Additional certifications such as NIHSS, PALS, CPI, and ENPC are strongly preferred
• Strong experience with Epic charting preferred
• Comfortable caring for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and provide flexible support within scope

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for patients in a non-admitted Emergency Department Observation Unit
• Assess, monitor, and prioritize care for patients with a wide range of emergency and observation-level conditions
• Respond confidently to high-acuity presentations such as stroke, trauma, cardiac, respiratory, behavioral health, and overdose-related concerns
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency interventions as indicated
• Support procedures including line management, wound care, splinting, and advanced monitoring
• Collaborate closely with providers, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively to support safe, efficient patient flow
• Deliver compassionate, organized care while adapting to changing patient needs throughout the shift
