Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a compact state license; temporary licenses are not accepted
• Associate degree in Nursing required
• 2 years of Emergency Department / ER nursing experience required; candidates with 18 months may be considered if they have recent, high-level specialty experience
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification or Red Cross equivalent
• TNCC certification required
• NURSYS verification required
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, adaptability, and excellent patient care skills in a busy emergency setting

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a 54-bed Emergency Department serving a broad patient population
• Deliver timely assessment, triage, treatment, and monitoring for patients with varying levels of acuity
• Support care delivery in a state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Care for critical, trauma, and high-acuity patients while maintaining safe and efficient workflows
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and follow facility protocols and standards
• Float to other units or hospitals when needed to support patient care needs
• Contribute to a patient-focused team environment committed to high-quality emergency services
