Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room setting
• Triage each patient and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system
• Perform focused assessments of chief complaints in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines
• Carry out patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, functioning within the limitations of the Nurse Practice Act
• Assist with moving patients, collecting blood samples, cleaning and bandaging wounds, administering medications, and maintaining proper supplies
• Apply strong time management skills to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Colorado
• BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire
• TNCC required upon hire or within 1 year
• ENPC or PALS required within 6 months of hire

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least two years of experience in critical care nursing
• ENPC certification (preferred over PALS)
• Specialty certification relevant to emergency nursing
