Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications with at least 1 year of ED experience.

Details

• 13-week contract assignment in a busy Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds
• Scheduled shift from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with rotating weekends
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratios include 1:4 ED, 1:5 behavioral health, and 1:3 cardiac/trauma
• Uses Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
• Charting is done in MEDITECH
• Performs procedures including splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central lines, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, Morgan lens use, rapid infuser use, and resuscitation

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
• MEDITECH experience preferred
• Trauma and holding/inpatient experience preferred
• CPI training preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across general ED, behavioral health, and cardiac/trauma populations
• Join a team of 111 staff members with day and night shift coverage including charge nurses, mid-shift support, PCTs, a paramedic, and an LVN
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Must follow all facility policies and procedures
• Active unit-based council and social committee
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered
